Who says desert living can’t be stylish? Discover how to blend the ancient charm of Egypt with the modern allure of the Mediterranean with this apartment design inspiration. Designed by Mai Elewa, this rustic sanctuary brings natural textures and earthy tones in an incredibly exciting way!

The living room in this apartment is like a soft embrace. A muted palette of beige dominates the space. The low-profile sofa provides plenty of comfortable seating space without taking too much vertical space. The rattan mat is topped with rustic coffee tables. These perfectly tie the space to the outdoors. The exposed wood beams on the ceiling perfectly add that industrial touch, while the black door framing adds contrast.

The entertainment complex features a rustic textured appearance. Even without color, it forms a stunning focal point. In another nook, a wall is covered with a bookcase. This features a rattan back and wooden drawers, providing both style and functionality.

Varying perspectives for the kitchen show how much versatility there is in design even with a pared-back interior. Textures take center stage, with the island playing a major role. Make it rough and textured for a fully rustic vibe. Alternatively, keep it sleek and add textures in the center for visual interest while keeping it sleek. That, paired with wooden bar stools. Adding a wooden dining table next to the island takes the design game to a whole new level. And, not to forget the rattan front cabinetry further adding natural textures.

The bedrooms in this apartment fully blend in with the rustic Mediterranean style. The base is set with a rattan board behind the bed; this can serve as the headboard too, so the bed can be kept minimal. Whether the mattress is set on an exposed wooden base or against a roughly textured headboard, the ambiance perfectly captures the vibe.

Finally, the bathrooms continue to capture a minimalist but rustic vibe. The vanity is made of exposed wood with interestingly shaped panels mounted onto the wall. The tub is also organically shaped and blends in with the rest of the color paleete, creating a relaxing atmosphere for enjoying a soak. A vessel sink, irregularly shaped mirror, and plant tie the space to the outdoors. The black hardware acts as the finishing touch, adding luxury.
