Designed by Zeworkroom Studio, this luxurious loft style interior conjures an atmosphere of peace and tranquility through a cohesive palette of warm neutrals, subtle wood grain and light brass fixtures. Bespoke storage solutions add to the smooth and reposeful decor in towering floor to ceiling volumes and creative partition walls. The custom furniture builds the walls of a remarkable double height living space, stacked with chic modern elegance. A unique staircase leads up to a mezzanine bedroom, which overlooks the lounge through an unexpected porthole cutout. Even the ensuite bathroom has it’s view of the living space via a clear glass balustrade, resulting in one harmonious and continuous connection of space.
Entering at the double height living room of the loft apartment, we find a compact lounge arrangement with a modern tufted sofa design and a matching chaise. Textured wall panels complement the definition of the upholstery, and draw the eye to the impressive height of the room.
are dotted about the living room layout, whilst a rectangle coffee table skims below a large and impressive arched window. A unique modern lighting installation inverts the arch of the window, dropping great looping bands through the lofty ceiling space.
A partition wall has been created through the loft to divide the living room from the home entryway, and to claim part of the floor area for the main bathroom and a huge walk-in closet. It is also the underpinning for the mezzanine bedroom and ensuite bathroom up top.
An enormous wall of storage units are interspersed with open shelves to make up a book lover's living. Pieces of sculptural art break up the library.
A modern fireplace is displayed in a unique surround, which has been custom-made to complement the space. A wood store is neatly recessed below the bookshelves.
Two white lounge chairs sit snugly by the fire, like a pair of plump marshmallows ready for toasting. A small black side table stands between the chairs to hold a couple of hot coffees, and to complement the dark frame of the recessed fireplace.
A solid balustrade smooths around a simple yet elegant staircase that gives rise to the mezzanine. A linear wall sconce burns a guiding light.
The base of the staircase design is cut away with the treads and risers to create interesting definition and open space.
The fireplace hearth continues across under the stairs to elongate the look of the room.
Camouflaged cabinets conceal a small kitchen beneath the mezzanine. The bedroom’s ensuite bathroom pulls in light from the living room through a frameless glass balustrade.
Shutters can be drawn across the ensuite bathroom to gain privacy, whilst perforations still take in some of the natural light. The minimalist kitchen is constructed in the same soothing wood grain as the partition wall to create a seamless blend. Brass wall units give the compact space a splash of luxe lustre.
A stone sink cover provides a little extra prep space in the small kitchen work area, and leaves the sink almost undetectable in the matching worktop.
A unique faucet pops up out of the integrated sink when needed.
All of the fittings are concealed below the bench line to achieve a sleek finish when the tap is out of use.
As we ascend the staircase, we pass a large porthole cutout that feeds light to the window of the cozy bedroom. A made-to-measure platform bed includes book storage in the base, and a bedside ledge for a lamp. A nook in the wood panelled headboard wall brings some of the bedtime reading material up by the pillows, along with an iconic Eames bird.
A short stone plinth gently divides the bedroom from its ensuite bathroom, and attractively supports the plumbing for the bathtub.
The grey and white stone clad ensuite is subtly complemented by marble vase by the bedside table lamp.
Exposed ceiling beams afford the mezzanine bedroom with valuable added height. LED perimeter lights glow around the edge of the ceiling to accentuate the beams and to increase the spacious effect.
A curved wall embraces a cylindrical pedestal sink at the back of the ensuite bathroom. The stylish sink forms a restful warm grey set with the modern freestanding bathtub.
A small backlit vanity mirror beams above the pedestal sink, echoing its rounded outline.
Brass fixtures reflect the soft light from the mirror. Stone grey towels complement the peaceful room palette.
Soap dispensers perch on the stone plinth.
Downstairs, the main bathroom houses a large shower enclosure.
A textured wet wall creates a tactile finish.
A wooden screen pulls across the WC.
Storage cabinets make use of disused space above the boxed-in cistern.
A suspended stone bench inside the shower enclosure continues on through the glass screen to become part of the vanity area. The floating shelf can be appreciated as purely decorative, or as a useful spot for stowing fresh towels.
Just like the kitchen and the ensuite, the main bathroom is finished with high quality brass fixtures.
A floor-to-ceiling mirror and a racetrack shaped bathroom sink with integrated toiletries shelf completes the modern vanity area.
Across the hallway from the downstairs bathroom, a generous walk-in closet lies behind wooden screen doors.
A ribbon of LEDs illuminate the front of the closet and the approach to the living room.
