This exquisite interior design belongs to a 176 square metre home located in Norway, designed and visualised by Nazar Tsymbaliuk. The house is a mountainside treasure trove of stunning rockface and marbled stone feature walls, natural wood and rich toned accents, gridded metal wall and ceiling panels, outstanding bespoke furniture creations and incredible bathroom designs. With mountain views as fabulous as this, the interior design had to be able to demand its own share of the attention, and the show stopping moments in the home just keep coming room after room, layer after layer.

The double height luxury living room is a layer cake of texture. Blasted rock creates waves behind a soft taupe sofa arrangement, gridded metal wraps the upper half, and wood panelling caps it all off at the ceiling.

The modern chandelier echoes the criss-crossed metal motif of the walls, with the addition of glass hanging orbs. Back down at ground level, ceramic decorative vases bring additional texture at the end of the sofa, where a side table extension is utilised as a small bookshelf.

Interlocking marble slab and wood coffee tables spread across a low pile area rug. The L-shaped sofa arrangement, a lounge chair duo, and twin bench seats make a complete four sided border of seating around the carpet.

The open plan lounge is connected to a luxury kitchen diner space with a formal dining table. A cohesive colour palette of taupe, natural wood and grey elements meld the two zones together as one visually soothing scene.

Suspended track lights descend in a black frame above the chic dining set and neighbouring kitchen space. A modern wooden staircase climbs behind the dining area, with treads secured to the ceiling by long balustrades. The vertical plane beneath the staircase is clad in the same wood, reaching up to meet each matching timber step.

The rockface feature wall in the lounge complements the spectacular mountain view through floor to ceiling windows. Heavy beams crisply frame the rugged wall inside its modern setting. Cherry blossom illustrates the delicate aspect of nature, right in front of an icon of its unwavering strength.

Light grey modern dining chairs tone with the highlights in the rock wall, whilst the kitchen’s black colourway vibes with its shadows. Wood framing accentuates an integrated tower of open kitchen shelving, and wooden doors define the island cabinets.

The wooden elements in the kitchen help couple it beautifully with the adjacent dining table, and with the floor of the living room.

Inside the master bedroom, a bespoke floor bed design divides the room into a sleep zone and an open plan ensuite. Huge windows extend the full height of the bedroom walls and reach out across the ceiling space to wrap the bed in skyscape.

An L-shaped planter wall builds the perimeter of the floor bed, which is comfortably lined with soft tufted cushions, and cosily filled with books, decorative vases and bedside lamps. Foliage bristles around the encompassing headboard, softening its line.

A double sink bathroom vanity area is set on a marble platform behind the unique bed design. Jute rugs are layered up to warm the floor and to complement the ribbed texture of the rugged pedestal sinks.
12 |
Huge pendant light shades hang low over a storage bench at one side of the ensuite bathroom. A wall of open shelves hold more toiletry items close to a beautiful freestanding bathtub, which is framed by breathtaking mountain panorama.
13 |
Another bedroom has a home workspace that is amalgamated with a heightened platform bed base.
14 |
The desktop continues below an elevated bookcase, which is accessed via the floating wooden steps that give rise to the bed and a closet. A long wall mirror breaks up the run of solid furniture, creating the illusion of an extra window with its light reflection.
15 |
The kids’ bed has been built right up against the window to take advantage of the dreamy view. A set of gymnastic hoops and a climbing wall could get the youngsters in training for their mountainside environment!
16 |
Crawl space beneath the bed is filled with a soft floor mat and scatter cushions to make a secret den.
17 |
The bathroom is a bright space, clad in distressed white painted wood. A huge window brings natural light directly into the shower–privacy is of no concern when there are no neighbours. A black toilet and bidet set put contrast into the white room decor.
18 |
On the other side of the shower partition wall, a unique double bathroom vanity is formed in marble and wood. A matching marble bathtub has open wooden shelving built into its side.
19 |
More open shelving builds stripes of marble higher on the bathroom wall, beneath white washed wood cladding.
20 |
The hallway between the kids’ bedroom and the next bathroom is a softly lit, texture rich space. Pocket doors slide away quietly into the walls.
21 |
Inside this bathroom there is an explosion of burgundy leaves, springing forth from a gridded metal wall. The colourful foliage makes an extraordinary backdrop for a modern grey slipper bath, set on a rough cut stone platform.

A grey toilet and bidet set, a grey pedestal sink, and a grey accented shower enclosure complete the bathroom arrangement. Large format stone tiles wash the floor and walls of the room in dramatic texture.
