Bohemian infusions into a Scandinavian decor scheme mean more colours, more woven elements and more intricate patterns. Decor pieces and accessories take on a more natural aesthetic, with hints of world travel. In these four Scandi-Boho home interiors, the meld of interior themes makes for light and airy living spaces that communicate a connection with nature through indoor plants and a natural materials palette. A sense of peace ensues from the natural vibes, which is elevated further by earthy accents, handmade objects of interest and easy, breezy layouts. We’ll round off with a slightly brighter take on the aesthetic, where vivid pops of turquoise shake up a tranquil setting of white and wood tone.
A gallery wall of botanical art and intricate pattern introduces boho vibes into our first featured home design. A Scandi style dove gray living room sofa makes a soft accompaniment to the display of natural tones. A beautiful macrame wall hanging adorns the side wall.
Down in front of the sofa, a geometric patterned rug pulls in shades of deep blue and umber, and a small pouf continues the blue accent shade in its boho upholstery.
A round lounge chair and a mature indoor plant pair up to fashion a typical boho reading nook ensemble, but smart plain upholstery and a plain accent cushion bring back the simple Scandi vibes.
Outside of the stylish tiny home, a deck is built to extend the living space. A set of small outdoor chairs are faced out toward the lush green view.
The wooden deck breaks away into smaller wooden “stepping stones” at one end, which form a pathway through the landscape.
Inside the bedroom, a Scandi wooden platform bed is dressed with deep shades of orange and umber in a boho print that complements the natural bedroom rug. Dark umber scatter cushions are layered at the head of the bed, beneath a picture ledge filled with dreamy botanical art. Echoing the shape of the jute rug, a simple round mirror adorns the adjacent wall by the window. See more inspiration for bedroom wall decor here.
In front of the floor-to-ceiling bedroom window, a sharp linear white home office desk and a sleek wood swivel chair stand firmly in the Scandinavian camp.
Wood bedside tables are fitted with stylish leather-look handle pulls. A sweet-smelling reed diffuser and a slender glass vase filled with dried flowers make tranquil adornments.
Inside the crisp white marble bathroom scheme, a wood-framed bathroom mirror and a rustic wood vanity unit make warming contributions. Lustrous gold fixtures add a luxury element.
Located in Barcelona, Spain, our second Scandi-Boho home tour begins in a light-filled living room. A tasselled living room rug lays down boho vibes beneath a Scandi lounge chair set and tripod floor lamp.
The Scandinavian style chair design features an element of wrapped ropework around the frame, which nods to the boho aesthetic.
Bottle green scatter cushions add punchy accents to the neutral beige lounge chairs. The cushions tie in with indoor plants that are scattered around the interior and the view of balcony plants that can be enjoyed through large windows.
A concrete planter has been built on the covered balcony to house a plethora of flourishing greenery.
Two woven lounge chairs and a small round coffee table make up a pretty relaxation spot where the homeowners can have a drink together or read peacefully in solitude.
An intricate black metalwork base gives the round coffee table a unique look. The tabletop is just the perfect size for a carafe and a couple of glass tumblers.
The small kitchen is concealed behind wood bifold doors, which keeps the appearance of the open plan living room clean and clear when cooking is not in motion.
A secretive door leads to the bathroom.
Inside the bathroom, hanging planters create a wash of greenery over glossy white storage cabinets.
A minimalistic chrome faucet fills the luxury stone sink.
High-shine white floor tiles continue from the living room into the bedroom, where they create a clean, minimalist base for a cosy upholstered bed. White wall panels complement the simplicity of the floor tiles and camouflage the door into the walk-in wardrobe.
The walk-in wardrobe is a narrow but well-equipped space with plentiful storage.
Our third home design is a project in Colwyn Bay, Wales. A mid-century modern inspired Scandi sideboard spans the width of the lounge, where fluffy faux fur lounge chairs seem irresistible.
The bedroom is small but well laid out. A flatweave bedroom rug holds together a pair of Scandinavian stools at the end of the bed. Rattan pendant light shades expand the symmetrical layout on each side of the bed.
The bathroom contains sharp black accents in the shape of a linear modern bathroom vanity, black toilet fixtures and a black shower.
In our final Scandi-Boho home tour, bright turquoise accents shake up a predominantly neutral decor palette. A large area rug lays a simple pale grey base for the living room arrangement.
A round wooden coffee table offers a generously sized spot for drinks and light snacks when entertaining.
A decorative tray displays fluted glassware on the table.
The turquoise upholstered lounge chair forms the hero piece for the lounge arrangement, which inspires turquoise scatter cushions on the sofa.
The TV is mounted on a rotating pole to offer the ultimate viewing angle from various seating options.
On the opposite side of a wood slatted screen, a home gym setup is decorated tastefully with a chevron effect wooden sideboard and a painted arch wall feature.
A large indoor plant provides a visual buffer between the home gym and the home entryway.
In the dining room, a live edge dining table is teamed with the Wegner style Wishbone Chair.
Indoor plants fill a decorative bowl to make a fresh table centrepiece. A crisp white built-in sideboard is interspersed with warming wood inserts, where simple white flatware is stored and displayed. A barn door leads directly into the kitchen.
cluster in front of monochrome wall art.
The kitchen and its indoor herb planters gain natural light via the dining room door and an interior glass wall. Kitchen bar stools line up on the other side of the bench.
Base cabinets and a block of knives put natural wooden elements into the kitchen, whilst a green backsplash smooths in a calming green accent colour, and monochrome floor tiles spread bold pattern.
