The S House in Istanbul has a contemporary interior design with a natural twist and was done by designer Tanju Ozelgin. Ozelgin had the challenge of creating a cosmopolitan design to satisfy the homeowner's lifestyle all while introducing the architect's concept of using natural elements that complement the home's exterior. He met this challenge and created a space full of natural stone and wood textures that bring about the natural setting while incorporating modern conveniences and chic style. Each floor of this home was designed with a different concept and because of the sloped land on which it sits; the top floor is actually the entrance. This floor also contains all the bedrooms in the home while the middle floor has the kitchen, and the ground floor has a living area full of electronics, a steam room and a sauna. This floor is also open to the outside patio and pool. This home beautifully combines an urban style with a natural environment creating a calm energy throughout the home. The textures and materials of stone and wood enable a natural presence while the furnishings and luxuries throughout give the modern feel. The lighting in the home is minimal emphasizing the use of sunlight in the space rather than abundant artificial light.
